So, then. My day has been going as follows:
1. Look over to a blank computer screen
2. Get up when even sleeping is too depressing.
3. Go over to fridge, pick up tupper ware of dog food and 1 can of dog food. Go over to cabinet and pick up spoon. Go into bathroom and[dog following throughout 3] spoon food 2:1 of homemade dog mush and canned beef by product chunks. Add water and mash till food resembles the consistency of baby vomit.
4. Feed dog. Follow up with flushing dog's gums with a saline solution and applying antibiotics with Qtip.
5. Go back to room and check email.
6. Eat remorseful bowl of cereal.
7. It is 10:30. Putt around wasting time and it becomes 10:43.
8. Leave for lab.
9. Wander through endless maze that is the VA building, while being the only one without a badge.
10. Knock on door of lab and stand there feeling out of place. It is 11:10.
11. Enter and sit down/attempt to get involved with whatever procedure they are doing for the day. a. Assist in making brain slides b. ID brain parts in brain slides and record c. Wade through endless protocol binders while mashing buttons on computer to run qPCR d. Wade through endless biotech company webpages to compare prices of materials needed (most of which you need to sign up for an account to see the price)
12. Everyone leaves for lunch and I take off f. Drive home, alone, with sad country song blaring
13. Lunch time (if not eaten in the car).
14. Check email
15. Attempt to work on applications/fall asleep
16. Wake up and continue to browse internet, ie. sdn forums
17. Go to fridge and repeat steps 3-4
18. eat dinner
19. fight with the boyfriend until it's time to fall asleep
20. Repeat MTWRF
Saturday is same but SJ instead of lab, Sunday is same but church instead of lab.
>>Sigh~ oh, to be back in college right now. Or it would be nice to have money for martial arts or something. Stuck between going to work and going back to school..I wonder how the times have changed such that a bachelor's isn't really worth anything. There are college grads working right allongside high school drop outs-I wonder how that works.
One of the more depressing aspects of the above stated routine is that my only fwend is a dog missing all of his teeth. He's like a really old man that I have to mash food up for and then flush out and wipe his mouth afterwards. Dogs are unbelievably loyal, it's strange that I've come to realize that only now. This dog, he's happy to jump up on my bed and curl around my feet, but just as happy (or at least ok with) sleeping on a pile of towels on the ground. He's always wagging his tail and eager to see me despite how much of a failure I am at life. I don't think I'd ever be able to find a significant other or even a child who would constantly follow me everywhere like he does-even to the bathroom. It might be odd or borderline unhealthy, but it's nice to know you're not alone in everyday struggles.
"I love dogs! Dogs embody loyalty they follow their masters commands above all else! Be a jerk to them and they don't complain and they never once beg for a paycheck! Trust me Fuery they're the great servants of man! Loyal canine how we salute Thee!" -Colonel Mustang
Despite all the unconditional love floofing through the air from doggy wiggles, I still miss the cuddles and kisses from a significant other. Perhaps panda cat would sit still..uggh I need..something to change in my life.
Bold, heavy font of LONLINESS drops down from the sky and makes a loud thud in front of me.
In other news: last night I had a dream I was cool. Yay. Was a traveling doctor of some sort, helping treat people while simultaneously busting up gangs.
