sunlight

Just now I had a dream, there was an angel. At times I saw myself as the angel and then at other times I was myself, observing at how other people were reacting to the angel. I was working in a hotel and the angel was stuck inside, my family who owned the hotel were trying to catch the angel and destroy it. But there were passageways throughout the Hotel in which the angel could use to navigate. God made a pact with the angels-in exchange for sending them to work for people, they would be given free access between the worlds. The passageways were like mazes to the normal human, wooden blocks had to be taken out and rearranged a certain way to get in or out. It was my birthday and my mother had told my aunt to bring plum wine. My brother was away volunteering for the army. My family was congregated in one of the hallways of the Hotel and everyone went into a room to discuss how to destroy the angel. I am the angel, desperately trying to get out of the hotel by using the passage, but the blocks are misalligned because a cat's been playing with them. I fly out of a window and into a courtyard which is centered in the middle of the hotel. A human falls in love with me and helps me get out by distracting the people. I try flying up the walls but boxes of food used for the kitchen line the walls and there are no windows, it is almost like the unending hallway. I finally get fed up and move around boxes to squeeze through a space. I fly through the Hotel and past the conference room where everyone is congregated. I am myself again and I'm in the room thinking that it is unfair to hurt something that was sent to help people. I go back to my room and a ball of fluff with hamster ears and a bunny tail pops out from beneath my bed and I play with it. I go out to the hallway where the angel is flying through several open windows (because they can't destroy?). As it reaches the outside, sunlight is pouring in and when I look into the conference room, expecting everyone to be pissed off, a man in a black suit and tie is waving his arms like a bird as he watches the angel fly away. Several people have gathered at the windows to encourage the angel to fly away too. It flies off against a cityscape of sunlight and skyscrapers. I never got to drink the plum wine at my birthday ceremony because my aunt forgot to bring it. As I left the hotel with my brother, I saw myself from 10 years ago and my brother said he was waiting for the angel to come back as he sat on the ground and pouted. A security guard comes by and tells us to go home because we're not supposed to be there.

The end.
