I decided to take a break from it all because midterms were finally done with and it was Friday. Went out to bowling, and I didn't realize that being forced to stay overtime in lab would make people so upset. I had no idea that money was involved in the event prior to it even happening. So I guess I let a lot of people down.
Had fun bowling, talking to friends, and then went to dinner at a semi expensive restaurant. Went home even though I was invited to spend more time out with friends because I wanted to see him. Of course, he wasn't there. So I decided to just go to sleep. He called me at around 2 in the morning and we talked for a bit. Turns out he came back at 6 in the morning (guess I wasn't too far off). It's a little too far off in the future and this might not be as important as I make it out to be, but that doesn't come off as husband material..people who stay out till the next day drinking, or partying with people of questionable morals. It's strange, but this came up at dinner the night before. Some guy friends were talking about the kind of girl they'd marry, (I thought it was funny at the time because these are college guys who don't usually have relationship talk..). And they'd mentioned that a girl who goes out a lot, gets drunk to the point of having to be taken care of, isn't the kind of girl you'd want to marry. That's very true, what kind of mother would a woman like that be..
So it made me think about the future I'd want. Nothing fancy, just someone to care for, and a job I enjoy doing every day. It might be selfish but I want to be with someone who has high hopes for the future. I'm not sure I'd be happy with someone who is perfectly content being stuck in a dead end job for the rest of their life..that's not a role model I'd want for my kids.
I watched TV/movies for the first time in a while today, and this B movie I saw, about the difference between men and women really disgusted me. It was basically about two women who wanted to get laid so they went to a bar to pick up some male hookers. The guys turned out to just be construction workers and were confused at the money they offered after their one night stand. The guys were out of jobs and money so the girls offered them their pool house to stay in, and in return they were their whores. It was a very stupid movie, the guys were degrading themselves and were only allowed inside when the girls wanted them there. It ended up that the guys fell in love with the girls they hooked up with and one of the girls wasn't looking for a relationship to begin with so her guy decided to move on but the other pair worked out and the guy that was left alone ended the movie by saying that real life isn't like the movies and that he hopes that he'll find another story that will make him happy.
The other TV I watched was an anime, recommended to me by a very eccentric friend. It started out with a panty shot..which wasn't very surprising. And the story line has been done quite a few times over. But it was hard to get into simply because there was little to no character development and the female protagonist wasn't someone I could relate to or understand.
Did laundry.
Got a call about the demo practice. And I'd rather be talking to him, but I have obligations I guess.
Fought with him again. Gah, it really is everytime he goes out.
